Juan Covarrubias -

A native of Santiago,
Chile, Juan Covarrubias began playing piano at age three.
After studying privately, he attended the
Conservatorio de la
Univerdidad Católica in Santiago as a young child. This is
also when he started playing in local rock and blues bands
and developed a unique playing style. He relocated in 2000
to Boston, MA to attend Berklee College of
Music. There he
achieved a dual major of Jazz Composition and Music
Production and Engineering. Graduating in 2003, he then
moved with a classmate to San Juan, Puerto Rico and
started Caribe Sol
Studios. There he was
able to perform with such artists as Vivanativa
and Vico
C, produce and compose
for Daddy
Yankee,
Tego
Calderon,
Julio
Voltio and many other
Latin pop, rock and reggaeton artists. Juan also composed
music for HBO INDEPENDENT
FILMS and
HOWLING
ENTERTAINMENT.
After five
productive years in Puerto Rico, Juan decided to relocate
to Los Angeles, CA to continue and expand his career. He
has recently composed with and produced along with
Dave
Resnik the
SONY/BMG
act Los
Convertibles. Juan
continues to compose and produce music for various film and
TV projects.
